- Final Thoughts on Choosing a Custom Claude Agent Partner
State of Custom Claude Agent & Workflow Partners in 2027
For Custom Claude Agents and Workflows, the firms that are owning the adoption are building margin and setting the pace. Private equity firms that are beginning to invest in their own custom agents for Claude, within their own workflows and at the portfolio level, are going to unlock efficiencies unlike anything we have witnessed within technological leaps across the past decade. Most firms are still supporting individual licenses of Claude, thinking about skills, but have not begun harnessing the power of agentic workflows across their teams and portfolios.
This ranking was designed against the things that we believe matter the most when looking for a reliable and reputable engineering partner for your custom Claude agent initiatives. You will find well-known names alongside boutique shops that punch far above their headcount, because the best partner depends on your stage and category. We left out the agencies that don't build or specialize in the Anthropic platform and one with thin reputations or questionable online presence. What remains are 15 firms that understand due diligence standards, compliance regulations, and the multi-stakeholder operations that help get deals across the finish line.
TL;DR — Top Custom Claude Agent Development Firms
- PressW: Claude-native engineering plus an ongoing managed AI service, built for PE firms and their portfolio companies. Forward-deployed engineers, fixed build cycles, and a team that still owns the system after launch.
- Ode with Anthropic: Anthropic's own services joint venture with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs. The deepest access to Claude of anyone on this list, and the most sponsor-conflicted. Best if you are inside one of its backers' portfolios.
- HatchWorks AI: The most PE proof points published by any firm here: eight named sponsors, three named portfolio-company case studies, and a 2 to 8 week production deployment. Best if you want a repeatable playbook across many portcos.
Key Advantages of Working With a Custom Claude Agent Development Firm
Most private equity firms are not behind on AI because they picked the wrong model. They are behind because nobody owned the work.
Grant Thornton's 2026 AI Impact Survey put the number on it: of 100 private equity respondents, 5% had fully integrated AI, against 14% across all industries, and 45% were still piloting. L.E.K.'s 2026 PE Pulse, surveying 100 US buyout professionals, found only 21% rate their own AI expertise as advanced
Here is what a real partner changes.
Someone owns the workflow end to end. A license gives your team a chat window. An agent partner interviews the people who actually do the work, maps the process, and builds something that runs it. Those are different projects.
The build has a finish line. Fixed cycles with checkpoints beat open-ended retainers, because a pilot that never ships is the default failure mode in this category.
The system survives contact with your stack. Affinity, DealCloud, NetSuite, the data room, the shared drive. Integration is where most portfolio-company builds stall, and it is the part a generalist shop underestimates.
Security and governance are designed in, not bolted on. MNPI handling, deal-data segregation, and retention policy are table stakes for a fund. Ask any partner to show you theirs before you scope anything.
Someone is still there in month six. The tech is relatively easy nowadays. It's the people side. Adoption, retraining, and the slow work of changing how a team operates is where engagements actually succeed or quietly die.
How We Ranked These Firms
Five things, weighted in this order:
- Verifiable Claude depth. Is the firm AI-native, or listed in Anthropic's Services Partner Directory, and does it publish Claude-specific work? Directory presence proves a listing, not a tier. Anthropic does not publish per-firm tiers, so it is up to a firm to prove its expertise in the platform and the models.
- PE fluency. Does it serve funds, portfolio companies, or both, and does it name them with case studies to back up the claims?
- Production evidence. Shipped systems with outcomes, not pilots and certification counts.
- Ongoing ownership. Does it operate the system after launch, or hand over a repo?
- Fit for a mid-market portfolio company. A $50M to $500M revenue business needs a different motion than a Fortune 100 program.
1. PressW
The team of 100% Anthropic-certified forward-deployed engineers that turns your Custom Claude Agent dreams into a reality, fast for your firm and portcos.

We built our Custom Claude Agent & Workflow practice for private equity firms and their portfolio companies across a wide array of verticals, to help them modernize existing workflows and unlock profit. Most firms are still struggling to adopt Claude and are only now considering how custom agents may fit into their workflows. Where many firms get stuck is understanding how to take a legacy process and train a Claude agent to independently manage that work with little human oversight. Everything we do runs through our TransformationOS methodology, our proven approach to rapid AI transformation that gives you a clear path and understanding to launching your first Claude agents and agentic workflows.
What separates us is not only the caliber of our engineering team's talent, but their ability to interface directly with our customers. Engineering doesn’t just build in a vacuum. Our forward-deployed engineers plug into your team's real processes to build your custom agents with evals, telemetry, and human approval gates built into every one. We interview the people who do the work and turn their process into a scoped, testable automation. A fixed build cycle moves each workflow from idea to pilot to production, with clear checkpoints for your team and measurable results at every stage, using our proprietary Argos platform for transparent reporting and management.
Managed AI Services: Claude Deployment, Configuration & Maintenance, Custom Claude Agent & Workflow Development, Claude License Management, Token & Usage Analytics, Token Optimization, AI Security, Compliance & Governance, AI Training & Support
AI Transformation: AI & Data Readiness Assessment, Forward Deployed AI Engineering, Custom AI Application & Platform Development, Data Engineering, Data Lake Build Out, AI Change Management
Standout Clients: Lorient Capital, Coustier Advisory (see the recent Claude case study), S3 Ventures
Best For: Private equity firms and regulated industries like medtech and fintech that want time and resources back, measured in payroll savings and time to deal close.
Why Choose PressW:
- We’re SOC 2 Type II certified, with a Claude-first engineering team as an Official Anthropic Partner, rather than a multi-model generalist practice that reaches Claude through a hyperscaler.
- Managed AI Services alongside project-based builds so the same team that ships the agent keeps operating, tuning, and extending it for you.
- Forward-deployed engineers embedded in your actual workflows, with evals, telemetry, and human approval gates built into every agent and find real joy in creating magic for our clients.
- Fixed build cycles with checkpoints, and transparent reporting through Argos, so you can see what shipped, usage analytics and adoption metrics to continue making more rapid business decisions.
Keep in Mind: we’re a boutique, not a thousand-person global program, a boutique firm that can scale up rapidly, so if you needed a scaled deployment across dozens of geographies on day one, one of the Big Four or a global firm further down this list will fit that shape better than we will.
2. Ode with Anthropic
Anthropic's own services firm, built by Blackstone to fix the implementation gap across its portfolio.

Ode is the most PE-native firm on this list and the most conflicted. Anthropic announced the services division with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs, then acquired San Francisco's Fractional AI on 20 May to serve as its operating core, and launched under the Ode name in July.
TechCrunch reported Ode operating with about 100 engineers, more than half of them former founders, following a "Claude-first" principle while retaining the ability to use rival models.
Ode says it works from roadmap through deployment and that it doesn't "hand off a repo and disappear."
Services: End-to-end AI strategy through production, delivered alongside Anthropic's Applied AI team.
Standout Clients: None named publicly.
Best For: Portfolio companies inside Blackstone, H&F, Apollo, General Atlantic, Leonard Green or GIC, where the CEO has made the project a top-one-or-two priority.
Why Choose Ode:
- The deepest Claude access available, with Anthropic as an owner rather than a certification body
- Built specifically to solve portfolio-wide implementation, by the sponsor who identified the problem
- A senior bench, with more than half its engineers reported to be former founders
Keep in Mind: Ode names no clients anywhere, publishes no engagement timelines, and its capacity is realistically allocated first to its own backers' portfolios. If you are a smaller or mid-market sized firm looking for a bespoke experience, you most likely are in the second queue.
3. HatchWorks AI
The most published PE evidence of anyone on this list, with a 2 to 8 week path to production.

HatchWorks AI publishes more PE detail than any other firm we reviewed. Its private equity page names eight sponsors: Peak Rock Capital, Sixth Street, Great Hill Partners, Apax, Battery Ventures, Align Capital Partners, Expedition Partners and Garnett Station Partners. Plus, three portfolio-company case studies with numbers attached, like Xometry (3,470 engineering hours saved) and Alta (integration delivery cut from 20 business days to under five).
The service menu splits cleanly by altitude. At the fund level: portfolio AI strategy and a repeatable playbook across portcos. At the portco level: production builds owned by the company and agent automation. Named formats include a one-day PE AI Innovation Workshop producing a 100-day action plan, and a 2 to 8 week Production AI Deployment.
HatchWorks lists Anthropic as an "Official partner" on its own site. It does not appear in Anthropic's Services Partner Directory. Both things can be true, but worth asking about.
Services: Portfolio AI strategy, AI diligence and exit readiness, Production AI deployment, Agentic AI Pods, GenDD methodology
Standout Clients: Xometry, Alta, Vanco, Diebold Nixdorf, Cox, AdventHealth
Best For: Sponsors who want one methodology applied repeatably across a portfolio, with nearshore delivery economics and short production timelines, but less custom development ability if scope increases.
Why Choose HatchWorks:
- Builds on the portfolio company's own data and leaves the IP with the company, so AI assets carry through to exit diligence
- Clear, short engagement formats with published timelines
- Nearshore LATAM delivery across Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil and Peru, with US time-zone overlap
Keep in Mind: It’s possible they’re limited in scope and with nearshore teams, delivery experience runs a risk of being highly-variable. Its Anthropic partner status is not confirmable on an Anthropic page, and it does not say whether it operates systems after the initial accelerator engagement ends.
4. KPMG
The firm Anthropic named as preferred consultant for its own private equity clients.

KPMG signed a global alliance with Anthropic in early May 2026, rolling Claude out to all 276,000 of its professionals. The alliance's stated initial focus is tax clients and private equity firms. KPMG US is embedding Claude into its PE offerings and KPMG is named preferred consultant for delivering AI solutions to Anthropic's private equity clients.
Delivery runs through Digital Gateway, KPMG's client-delivery platform, with Claude embedded so clients can build agentic workflows in real time, and Claude Cowork integrated alongside it. Governance sits inside the KPMG Trusted AI framework.
Yet, no tier is stated on KPMG's alliance page, and no named Claude client or portfolio-company case study has been published yet.
Services: Digital Gateway with embedded Claude, agentic workflow builds, managed AI agents, AI assurance and risk under Trusted AI, private equity strategy
Standout Clients: None named for Claude work
Best For: Large-cap sponsors who already run KPMG for audit, tax or deal advisory and want AI delivered inside that existing relationship.
Why Choose KPMG:
- The only firm with a publicly stated preferred-consultant position for Anthropic's own PE clients
- PE named as an initial focus of the alliance, not an afterthought
- Co-development of Claude products aimed specifically at portfolio companies
Keep in Mind: A 276,000-person firm is built for large-cap programs. If you need a six-week agent build for a $120M revenue portco, the engagement shape is likely to be wrong. No PE case study has been published, and how the Anthropic referral arrangement actually routes work is not disclosed.
5. Tribe AI
Forward-deployed teams drawn from a vetted contractor network, with a genuine AI due diligence product.

Tribe AI runs a network model: a vetted collective of contract ML technologists assembled into forward-deployed teams, rather than a fixed payroll bench. TechCrunch reported a network of more than 500 contractors and a $3.25M round raised after six years of bootstrapping.
Its PE practice is one of only two on this list with a real diligence offering. AI Due Diligence evaluates a target's AI and data maturity across architecture, security, code quality and technical debt, and produces a day-0 value creation plan. AI Opportunity Assessment does the equivalent for companies already in the portfolio. Delivery runs Map, Build, Activate, with engineers embedded in the client's environment. SOC 2 Type II certified.
Tribe is explicitly platform-agnostic, with partnerships spanning AWS, Azure, Google, OpenAI and Anthropic, and it has joined Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise program. It is listed in Anthropic's directory.
Services: AI Due Diligence, AI Opportunity Assessment, forward-deployed build teams, Map / Build / Activate delivery
Standout Clients: MyFitnessPal, New Relic (From 2024, not PE-specific)
Best For: Sponsors who want pre-deal AI diligence and deliberate model optionality across a portfolio or firm’s operations
Why Choose Tribe AI:
- A real, scoped AI diligence product rated across four named dimensions
- Listed in Anthropic's Services Partner Directory, with genuine multi-model flexibility
- SOC 2 Type II and Microsoft SSPA compliant
Keep in Mind: The contractor-network model means staffing continuity depends on network availability rather than payroll. Its PE page carries testimonials from titled individuals whose firms are not identified, and names no sponsors or PE case studies. If you specifically want a Claude specialist, a platform-agnostic integrator is a different choice.
6. Ciridae
The fastest published cadence in the category: three days, three weeks, three months.

Ciridae is only 20 months old and moving quickly with a closed $20M seed round in May 2026 led by Accel, with a16z, General Catalyst, Sunflower and Backcountry.
The cadence is the clearest commitment any firm here publishes. Three days: engineers on site, a prototype built on your own data with your team. Three weeks: a working workflow connected to your systems and in daily use. Three months: a full operating system across the business. Ciridae also says it will operate, maintain and improve the system with you after launch.
It focuses on real-economy mid-market businesses — construction, field service, distribution, restoration, logistics — and says its customers and partners include PE funds with more than $1.3 trillion in AUM, without naming any. It is listed in Anthropic's directory.
Services: Ciridae OS, Crucible, three-day bootcamp, embedded build, ongoing operations
Standout Clients: Onyx Fire and Life Safety, Knight Commercial, WWEX Group, Radwell, Vertex Service Partners
Best For: Mid-market industrial, field-service and distribution portfolio companies that want something live fast.
Why Choose Ciridae:
- The most rapid, transparent timeline commitment on this list
- Explicitly operates and improves the system after launch rather than handing it over
- Listed in Anthropic's Services Partner Directory, backed by Accel, a16z and General Catalyst
Keep in Mind: It is less than two years old with no published headcount, logos but no case studies, and no stated PE-specific product behind the AUM claim. It says nothing publicly about Claude or Anthropic on its own site, so model posture is worth asking about directly. Its site says three weeks to a live workflow; its funding coverage says two.
7. PwC
AI-native deal-making: agents for diligence, value creation and integration, aimed at sponsors.

PwC's expanded its Anthropic alliance in early May 2026. It covers 30,000 professionals being trained and certified on Claude through a joint Center of Excellence, with Claude Code and Claude Cowork rolling out to US teams first.
The relevant motion is AI-native deal-making: agents supporting diligence, value creation and integration for PE sponsors and corporate acquirers, with Deal Making as one of three active AI incubation pods alongside Finance and Supply Chain. PwC also launched Office of the CFO, a finance business group built on Claude.
PwC is also the only firm at this tier with a named Claude client we could verify: Advocate Health, a 167,000-person health system. Published unnamed outcomes include delivery improvements up to 70% and an insurance underwriting cycle cut from ten weeks to ten days.
Services: Agentic technology build with Claude Code, AI-native deal-making, enterprise function reinvention, AI incubation pods, Office of the CFO
Standout Clients: Advocate Health
Best For: Sponsors who want diligence, value creation and integration handled by one firm with deal-advisory depth already in-house.
Why Choose PwC:
- A named, PE-specific Claude initiative covering the full deal lifecycle
- 30,000 professionals being trained and certified, with a joint Anthropic Center of Excellence
- The only named enterprise Claude client reference at this tier
Keep in Mind: No partner tier is stated anywhere, and no PE or portfolio-company Claude case study has been published. Like every firm at this scale, minimum deal size and lead time are not disclosed, and the expectation for engagement is large enterprise, rather than mid-market portcos.
8. forgd
A Claude-specialist boutique that names private equity as a first-class vertical.

forgd is one of the few genuinely Claude-native boutiques in Anthropic's directory. It describes itself as an applied AI consultancy helping enterprises, private equity firms and nonprofits adopt Claude, and splits its build work into Code (AI-native development), Cowork (non-technical automation across operations, finance, service and GTM) and Managed Agents (agentic workflows for sales, pricing, order management and billing).
Engagements run in four named tiers: Activate for teams starting out, Build for teams ready to ship, Scale for enterprise-wide sprints, and a Frontier Plan with dedicated embedded teams. Its one published case study is Solifi, a secured-finance fintech, with self-reported results of a 70% reduction in database calls, four days to production workflows, and three weeks to Claude adoption.
forgd describes itself as an Anthropic Preferred Partner. It is confirmed in Anthropic's directory, but Anthropic does not publish tiers, so that claim cannot be verified on an Anthropic source. Worth noting: the published Preferred threshold reported by trade press is 100 certified practitioners, and forgd is listed at 11 to 50 employees.
Services: Code, Cowork, Managed Agents, Activate / Build / Scale / Frontier Plan
Standout Clients: Solifi
Best For: Funds and portfolio companies that want a Claude specialist rather than a multi-model generalist, and can work with a remote-first team.
Why Choose forgd:
- Built entirely around Claude, including Claude Code and Cowork, rather than reaching it through a hyperscaler
- Private equity named as one of three core verticals
- Managed Agents offering covers ongoing agentic workflows, not just a one-time build
Keep in Mind: Founded in 2025, with no published HQ, leadership, funding or PE client with one published case study to date.
9. Caylent
The best-substantiated Claude partner credential of any boutique, routed through AWS.

Caylent is the one firm here whose Claude tier claim has a named human behind it in independent trade press: its SVP of Anthropic Consulting & Engineering, Jason Cutler, described Caylent as a Preferred Services Partner on the record. That is materially stronger evidence than a badge image.
It runs a dedicated Anthropic Consulting & Engineering practice focused on governance, operating models and moving Claude into production at scale, alongside AWS Premier Tier Services Partner status and 850+ AWS certifications. Named Claude work includes Smarsh (an agentic SDLC framework on Bedrock and Claude Code, self-reported at $5–10M per year saved), Unbounce, BrainBox AI and Best Egg. It uses a forward-deployed engineer model and packages work as Caylent Catalysts.
Services: Claude on AWS (Bedrock, Claude Code), Claude Agent SDK builds, LLMOps, Forward Deployed Engineers, agentic SDLC transformation, Caylent Catalysts
Standout Clients: Smarsh, Unbounce, BrainBox AI, Best Egg, Indeed, Taco Bell
Best For: Portfolio companies already standardized on AWS that want Claude in production with real cloud engineering behind it.
Why Choose Caylent:
- Four named Claude case studies, more than almost anyone else on this list
- A Preferred tier claim corroborated on the record by a named executive in trade press
- Deep AWS competency, which matters when the agent has to live next to the data
Keep in Mind: Claude work is largely routed through Amazon Bedrock. If your portfolio runs on Azure or GCP, or you want Claude Enterprise direct, that is a real architectural constraint. There is a private equity link in its menu but no PE case study or engagement format published
10. Teragonia
The only firm here built exclusively for private equity, sold as a product rather than a build.

Teragonia sells Astradis, marketed as "the AI operating system for private equity," organized into Command Centers by executive function: Finance (13-week cash flow forecasting, M&A exit planning), Revenue (dynamic pricing, churn prediction), Product (SKU-level demand forecasting, route optimization) and Service (field resource optimization, greenfield site identification).
It promises zero-disruption deployment and under 30 days to live insights, and claims a 2 to 3 percentage point average EBITDA lift post-deployment. Published case studies include tariff intelligence for a global manufacturer, a churn-to-loyalty engagement reporting a $90M enterprise value boost, and revenue cycle management for a PE-backed physician practice management company. Offices span Chicago, New York, Toronto, Dallas, London, São Paulo, Bengaluru and Kochi.
Services: Astradis platform, Finance / Revenue / Product / Service Command Centers, data integration, cloud data hub, dashboards, reverse ETL
Standout Clients: Randall Foods, UPSTACK, Gills
Best For: Sponsors who want standardized portfolio analytics and reporting stood up quickly across many companies.
Why Choose Teragonia:
- The only PE-exclusive firm on this list, with a sponsor-facing GTM it is actively building out
- Fastest stated time to value at under 30 days
- Function-level Command Centers map cleanly onto how operating teams are organized
Keep in Mind: This is a product company more than a custom agent shop, so it is a different purchase from the bespoke Claude builds this list is about. Its site describes parts of the Astradis AI layer as "actively in development." It names no PE sponsors, makes no public Claude or Anthropic commitment, is not in Anthropic's directory, and its funding is thinly sourced.
11. Blue Orange Digital
A data-platform firm with the most clearly shaped PE operating-partner offer on this list.

Blue Orange Digital came up through data engineering and added agentic work on top, which shows in how it sells. Its PE engagement model is the most legible here: Assess in 2 to 4 weeks, Build in 3 to 6 months, Scale portfolio-wide, plus an advisory retainer for fractional AI leadership.
Service areas cover agentic automation, data platform, analytics and ML, and decision intelligence, built on Claude and Databricks and deployed in the client's own cloud. Named enterprise clients include Wells Fargo, FedEx and The Hartford.
Notably, Blue Orange says it builds on Claude without claiming any Anthropic partnership, which is the honest posture.
Services: Agentic automation, data platform engineering, analytics and ML, decision intelligence, fractional AI leadership retainer
Standout Clients: Wells Fargo, FedEx, The Hartford
Best For: Portfolio companies where the data foundation is the real blocker and agents have to be built on top of a mess.
Why Choose Blue Orange:
- Published, PE-shaped engagement stages with stated durations
- Deep data-engineering heritage, which is where most portfolio-company agent builds actually stall
- Oliver Wyman as a minority shareholder, and a decade of production delivery since 2016
Keep in Mind: It is not in Anthropic's Services Partner Directory and makes no Claude partner claim, so Claude-specific depth is shallower than the specialists above. Named clients are enterprises, not PE sponsors.
12. Accenture
The largest Claude practice in the world, built for Global 2000 programs.

Accenture signed a multi-year partnership with Anthropic in early December 2025 and stood up a dedicated Anthropic Business Group, a practice built around Claude with its own teams and go-to-market focus. Roughly 30,000 Accenture professionals have been trained on Claude, and the two companies co-fund a Claude Center of Excellence inside Accenture. Anthropic describes Accenture as its "premier AI partner for coding with Claude Code". It is listed Global Premier in Anthropic's directory.
Offerings include a joint CIO product for measuring AI value and adoption, workflow redesign for AI-first engineering teams, change management, and regulated-industry work including compliance automation for banks and insurers. Accenture calls its embedded Claude engineers "reinvention deployed engineers."
Services: Anthropic Business Group, Claude Center of Excellence, AI value measurement, workflow redesign, regulated-industry compliance automation, Innovation Hubs
Standout Clients: None named for Claude work; Global 2000 clients referenced generically.
Best For: Large-cap sponsors running multi-year, multi-geography transformation across very large portfolio companies.
Why Choose Accenture:
- The deepest Claude bench of any services firm, with a dedicated practice rather than a side alliance
- Global Premier tier plus a co-funded Center of Excellence with Anthropic
- Named by Anthropic as its premier partner for coding with Claude Code
Keep in Mind: The Anthropic partnership names financial services, life sciences, healthcare and public sector, not private equity. Offerings are framed around Global 2000 buyers prototyping in Innovation Hubs, which is a poor fit for a mid-market portco needing a six-week build. Accenture also partners with OpenAI.
13. Deloitte
The largest Claude deployment anywhere, and a standing PE diligence practice that is not yet connected to it.

Deloitte's deal with Anthropic deploys Claude to more than 470,000 employees across 150+ countries. It plans to certify 15,000 practitioners and runs a Claude Center of Excellence producing implementation frameworks, playbooks, role-specific "personas" and reusable client-deployment templates. It is listed Global Premier.
Its published Claude services skew follow-on: persona design, red-teaming, data-guardrail tuning and agent workflow rewrites. Separately, Deloitte runs an AI Due Diligence for Private Equity practice and is recognized in Everest Group's PE Services PEAK Matrix — but we found no public page connecting that PE practice to Claude specifically.
Services: Claude Center of Excellence, personas, red-teaming, guardrail tuning, agent workflow rewrites, AI Due Diligence for Private Equity (separate practice)
Standout Clients: None named for Claude work. Serves nearly 90% of the Fortune Global 500.
Best For: Sponsors with an existing Deloitte relationship who want AI diligence and enterprise rollout from one firm.
Why Choose Deloitte:
- The largest Claude deployment of any firm, at 470,000+ seats across 150+ countries
- An established AI due diligence practice built specifically for private equity
- Global Premier tier with a dedicated Claude Center of Excellence
Keep in Mind: Its PE diligence practice and its Claude practice are not publicly joined. The 15,000 certified practitioners is a plan, not a current count. Its published Claude services read as monetizing an internal rollout outward rather than a from-scratch custom agent practice.
14. Cognizant
Global Premier tier with a named agent platform, aimed squarely at large enterprise.

Cognizant's Anthropic relationship began early November 2025 with Claude made available to up to 350,000 employees, then expanded in July 2026 when it was named a Global Premier Partner with more than 30,000 employees having completed Claude training and a "Frontier Certified" credentialing model for staff operating Claude-powered systems.
It is one of the few firms at this tier with a named agent platform rather than generic consulting: Cognizant Agent Foundry for building and deploying agents at scale, Neuro AI Multi-Agent Orchestration, and Flowsource. It builds with Claude models, Claude Code, MCP and the Claude Agent SDK, and designs reusable domain-specific agents.
Published outcomes are quantified but the clients are anonymized: an AI-led CX portal for a global manufacturer in six months, agentic contract intelligence cutting biopharma review time up to 40%, and an insurance risk tool saving roughly eight hours per underwriter per week.
Services: Agent Foundry, Neuro AI Multi-Agent Orchestration, Flowsource, legacy modernization, vertical agentic solutions starting with financial services
Standout Clients: None named; outcomes published anonymized.
Best For: Large portfolio companies needing multi-agent systems with formal governance and approval controls.
Why Choose Cognizant:
- Global Premier tier with named, productized agent platforms rather than bespoke consulting alone
- Explicit policy, approval and human-in-the-loop controls designed into its agent architecture
- Published quantified outcomes across manufacturing, biopharma and insurance
Keep in Mind: Private equity is not named anywhere in its Anthropic announcements. Its 30,000 Claude-trained staff are roughly one in twelve of its workforce. It names no Claude clients, and delivery is offshore-weighted.
15. Distyl AI
The biggest balance sheet of any AI-native firm here, with no private equity practice at all.

Distyl AI raised $175M at a $1.8B valuation in September 2025, co-led by Khosla and Lightspeed with Coatue, Dell Technologies Capital and DST Global. It runs forward-deployed teams of engineers and researchers who own the outcome, backed by a product suite: Distillery, Weave, Context Mesh, Context Views, Journey, Personalization, Capture and Canary.
It claims 150M+ end users reached and Fortune 500 partnerships across telecom, healthcare, manufacturing, insurance and retail, and says it delivers production systems in weeks or months. It is listed in Anthropic's directory, though it began as an OpenAI Services Alliance partner in 2023 and now works with both labs on Microsoft Azure.
Services: Forward-deployed engineering teams, Distillery and the Distyl product suite, enterprise AI transformation
Standout Clients: None named in any source, vendor or independent.
Best For: Very large portfolio companies at Fortune 500 scale that want a venture-backed alternative to a Big Four program.
Why Choose Distyl:
- Deeply capitalized and growing fast, with ex-Palantir forward-deployed DNA
- A real product suite behind the services, not just staffing
- Multi-lab flexibility across both Anthropic and OpenAI on Azure
Keep in Mind: We found no PE-specific offering anywhere on its site — no diligence, no portfolio program, no hold-period value creation. Its OpenAI heritage means it is not a Claude-first shop. It names no clients at all, and its Fortune 500 orientation is a different buyer from a mid-market portco.
Final Thoughts on Choosing a Custom Claude Agent Partner
Custom Claude agents have moved past the pilot stage in private equity. Funds and portfolio companies that spent last year experimenting with individual licenses are now deciding who will own the workflows that run the business, and that choice shapes margin for the rest of the hold period. The firms on this list understand that shift, and each can help a sponsor get its first custom Claude agents into production. The difference between them comes down to deal size, platform preference, and how much ongoing ownership you want after launch.
The honest truth is that any of these 15 firms could do strong work for the right buyer, which is exactly why the choice deserves more than a logo comparison. If you want agents that give your team hours back and shorten time to deal close, run by a team that keeps operating them after launch, that is the conversation we have every day. Reach out to our team to see what your first production workflow could look like.
